Isadora looked somewhat relieved once she realized that you weren't going to make her fight anything too dangerous. Titmice were relatively harmless and preferred to run rather then fight - the perfect target to test your starter's spells on.
It took about half an hour to find your first targets - a trio of Titmice rummaging through a dumpster behind a restaurant. A quick glance revealed that two of them were significantly younger then the third - a mother and her kits, perhaps? The older feral moved with a noticeable limp, keeping a wary eye out for any predators.
Sticking to the shadows, you glanced at Isadora and signaled for her to attack when ready. The Witch frowned, mentally sizing up her opponents before deciding to target the injured feral. She whispered under her breath, spitting out words too quickly for you to comprehend as the air around her grew thick and heavy.
Sensing trouble, the older Titmouse squealed out a warning. The ferals attempted to scatter, but it was already too late. A greyish-green bolt of energy leaped out of Isadora's fingertips, streaking across the air and striking her target as it tried to flee. The feral shrieked in pain as it collapsed, limbs twitching uncontrollably as it struggled to stand.
Before it could recover, you stepped forwards, tossing a pokeball even as the other ferals scampered out of sight. A moment later, the device beeped, signalling a successful capture. "Well done, Isadora," you complimented as you picked up the pokeball. "I wasn't expecting you to take one out with a single spell."
"Well, it wasn't that difficult," your Witch said, looking rather pleased with herself. "Sap Strength isn't a very powerful spell, but against a weak and injured target it was perfect."
"Do you know any other spells?" you asked.
Isadora nodded, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "Yes, but I'll need to test them out on something first. That spell... it wasn't much stronger then usual, but I seem to have more control over it now then when I was still... well, before I became this."
Over the course of the afternoon, the two of you explored the back alleys and side paths where Titmice liked to gather. Unfortunately, you only caught two more - it seems that the city recently hired a bunch of tamers to do a purge of any ferals living within the city limits. The ones that survived are cunning, canny, and all too easily spooked.
While you're a little disappointed at the slim pickings, Isadora at least has gained a bit more combat experience. The Witch revealed two more spells during your hunting attempt: Blinding Curse, which blinds a single target for a few moments and Crippling Curse, which causes the target to suffer horrific agony but drains some of the caster's own life force to cast. In addition, she has access to Mystic Bolt, which she insists is not a "real" spell as it simply involves gathering a chunk of mana and tossing it at an enemy, and Witch's Curse, which she declares to be not worth casting as her curses are more effective.
The two of you continue hunting until Isadora admits that she's too tired to cast anymore. As you make your way back to the pokecenter, you can't help the urge to keep rubbing the pokeballs on your belt. You've finally caught a pokegirl! Sure, it's just a bunch of Titmice, but it's still better then nothing, right? At the very least, you can sell them for some extra cash.
Once you reach the (blessedly air conditioned) pokecenter, you speak to the sleepy looking Nurse Joy at the counter and arrange for all your pokegirls to be healed and cleaned. As you wait for the machines to finish their job, you decide to...
[] Sell all three of the Titmice you've caught (gain 30, 000 SLC)
[] Sell two, but keep one for yourself (gain 20, 000 SLC)
[] Sell one, keep two for yourself (gain 10, 000 SLC)
[] Keep all the Titmice?
---------------------------
AN: Lucky you picked this option. The background rolls were pretty bad, but since you were just chasing Titmice the only thing that happened was that you couldn't find as many as you were supposed to.
Character Sheet updated. I've added Isadora's spells into her profile, but let me know if the link is acting finicky.
ReplyDeleteSaved by caution it seems. Good thing some bigger prey didn't stumble into our hunt and became something we couldn't quite chew on.
ReplyDeleteI'd say we should sell two (20,000), keep the strongest, buy a Dark+Shield from the cracked area (9,100), give her a speech T2 and bingo, we got ourselves a ninjanezumi (Rare in Blue).
We could either keep the ninjanezumi or sell her for 125,000 SLC.
Gm, could you confirm the math and/or viability of this plan?
Sorry, Rare selling price (feral) would be for 50,000 I think, no?
DeleteDoing the math, we could even just buy two fire stones (4,200), evolve the titmouses into vestas(rare), sell them (50,000), and then do the ninjanezumi thing.
DeleteBoy if this works we gun get a degree in economy or something.
DeleteThat said, it always did seem off that the evolution stone prices were so low comparatively to the price of the breeds they evolved. So a fire stone at 10K would still be a good economical option when you evolve a super common girl (titmouse) from being sold at 10K to 50K.
Bear in mind that the cheap stone stall may not be there again. I'll let you make a roll for it, but it's not a guaranteed thing. If it isn't there, you can still buy stones at the pokemart for a higher price.
DeleteAnd what would those prices be?
DeleteI'd say something similar to Ravni's plan, though I'd prefer going for a Woodmouse over a Ninjanezumi.
DeleteYou can find the standard prices for the stones here: http://z3.invisionfree.com/PokegirlsPokecenter/index.php?showtopic=121
DeleteSo to summarise
ReplyDeleteUncommon = 3,000 SLC
Dream - Dark - Fire - Ice Crystal (aka Cold Stone) - Leaf - Thunder - Venom - Water
Rare = 6,000 SLC
Angel - Diamond - Heavy Metal - Mana Crystal - Moon Shard - Moon - Psi Crystal - Round - Shadow - Sky Crystal - Sun
Very Rare = ??? (Auctions, private transactions)
Dragon Scale - Dusk - Shield - Shiny
Extremely Rare = (Just sell your mansion or something)
Dawn
Non-priced evolution items:
E-Medal (Supposedly more common than Rare as they can be made, but not defined by how much)
Oil - Ebony (Forbidden Stones)
Everstone = 20,000 SLC
And we have 7,500 SLC after all our supply purchases. So, we buy two Fire Stones (2x3,000=6000), use them on two of the Titmice, sell them (2x50,000=100,000), which would give us 101,500 SLC. Then we could buy a Leaf and Diamond Stone (3,000+6,000=9,000) and evolve the remaining one into a Woodmouse. That'd give us 92,500 SLC (Minus whatever the cost of a speech T2 is) that we could use to go back to the auction house and get another Pokegirl if we wanted, and a Plant/Ground Pokegirl who could help us with foraging for food out in the wild.
DeleteSo would you guys prefer Plan Takeshi or Plan Mario?
ReplyDeleteI say plan takeshi sounds better
DeleteYeah, plan Takeshi works best in my book
DeleteOk. I'll get the next post up by Wednesday latest.
